Question:

i have a older model BandW companion hitch model number 3000, the serial number is 28730 from my 2008 F 450, i want to know if this hitch can be used in my 2019 F250 crew cab with 8 foot bed. Will it be tall enough to clear the bed rails pulling a 2022 Alliance 5 wheel or do i need to upgrade the base?

In order to use the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch RVK3000 on a 2019 Ford F-250 8' Bed you'll need the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches part # BWGNRK1116 if you don't have the factory prep package. If you do have the factory prep package then you will just need a new base, the Replacement Base for B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ford Super Duty part # BWRVB3305.

The hitch head height for the first option won't change but for the new base it would be 16-3/4" - 18-3/4". There shouldn't be any issue clearing the bedsides on the truck but you can make adjustments to not only the hitch head height on the hitch but also the pin box on the trailer as well.
