Question:
This question has been asked before. Bike and Mount are right at 300 lbs. 2002 Toyota Avalon. I know owners manual says 200 lbs. can your hitch and 1-1/4 hitch support the max tongue weight, for a couple hundred miles a month? I have aftermarket coil overs, very ridged suspension?

If the owner's manual for your 2002 Toyota Avalon says max tongue weight is 200 lbs then that is your limiting factor so you need to stick within the 200 lb capacity even with the Class II Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36293 having a 300 lb tongue weight rating.
Trailer hitch tongue weight ratings are tested outside of being installed on the vehicle. Most of the time the trailer hitch can handle more than the vehicle it fits but on occasion we'll see the vehicle rated higher. Either way you want to remain under the least rated component.
For a lightweight bike rack that can still handle some hefty bikes I recommend checking out the Saris SuperClamp EX Bike Rack # SA4025F which weighs in at 35 lbs but can carry up to 60 lb bikes.
I'm attaching an installation video of the hitch as well as a review of the bike rack. If you don't think this combination will work for your application I'd be more than happy to help you look a little more if you can give me some more info on your bike(s).
