Question:

Good morning! Will this rack accommodate a 12 foot kayak securely? I see that it is 48inch wide, leaving a 4foot overhang on each side, correct? Will it tip with the three kayaks on one side? I was thinking of getting an extra set of racks to put on the other side to balance it. Would that make it more stable? Thanks for your help.

The Malone Kayak Storage Rack for 3 Kayaks part # MPG318 will work great with 12' kayaks. The kayak carriers have a 125 lb weight capacity so as long as you balance the kayak on the cradles evenly there will be no issues. If you want to add more kayaks to the other side using the J-Style Kayak Cradle for Malone Free Standing Storage Rack part # MPG320, I don't see a problem with this so long as you don't go over the total carrier capacity of 250 lbs.

In regards to stability, balancing the boats on the rack evenly will contribute most to this and also loading boats on the lower holders first. That said, it won't tip over even with all three kayaks on the same side.
