P3 Brake Controller Getting Red Screen Fault
Updated 09/20/2022 | Published 09/19/2022 >
Question:
Installed the P3 in place of the original Prodigy from 2007. Without a trailer connected I get the No Groundinch red screen fault. I checked all the wiring and the plug from Ford, and everything is sound and tight, no corrosion. As an extra measure I sprayed some electronics cleaner into both sides of the plug. after the cleaner evaporated, I re-made the connection and the P3 was happy for a little while but returned again this morning. Im curious with no ground to the battery as its indicating, how is the LCD screen and the unit itself operational. Seems odd

The red screen on The Prodigy P3 # 90195 will indicate that either the trailer is disconnected or there is an open ground error. The no trailer connector screen will eventually go away, but the open ground error screen will last until the ground wire issue is resolved. You will have to check the white wire from the controller. You will more then likely have to change out the ground wire. If that still doesn't work you will have to bench test the P3 controller. I will attach a link below on how to proceed.
