Why Can't Viair TLC Tire Inflator Air Chuck Be Used with All Compressors

I saw the note on the page. Why isnt this compatible with other brands of compressors? It would seem that the fittings should be universal, right?

The Viair TLC Tire Inflator Air Chuck # VA24WR is equipped with a close-ended quick coupler that holds the pressure back so it isn't compatible with regular portable compressors that operate with an open-ended air chuck. The portable Viair TLC compressor kits have the correct quick coupler which is why it works with their setups.

I am planning on using this Viair TLC with my large shop compressor. Is it compatible as I am unclear about open ended or automatic. Thank you

@Pat this is only compatible with Viair TLC compressor kits and automatic compressors.
