Question:
It lists for a 44 inch door. but also says the spring is 44 inches, which would be the full width of the door. I have not seen a spring the full width of a door opening. Can you tell me the actual length of the spring on this item please

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Conventional Ramp Door Spring # 362SA4 is in fact 44 inches. The spring assembly is able to be cut down to 23-3/4 inches minimum.
The spring helps reduce wear and helps prevent damage to the door hinges. The system can be modified to fit your specific application, just slide the bracket and cable drum down and cut the shaft to a shorter length. The spring has a sturdy steel construction. It will fits doors from 24 inches to 44 inches.
