Options to Carry Skis with a Thule Platform Rack Installed

Question:

I’m trying to find a ski rack that might attach to the back of my folded hitch mount Thule 990XT bike rack. There are 2 bars 1.25”x1.25” that would run perpendicular to the ski rack, unlike roof bars that run parallel to the ski rack. The bars are 8.75” wide interior and 11.25” wide exterior. Is there any type of rack with adjustable mounting points to fit the width that would also mount to square bars?

While we do have some ski adapters for bike racks, they are for hanging style bikes racks and not platform style racks like your Thule 990XT. There is not currently an adapter/carrier available that will accomplish what you are looking to do.

We do have the SeaSucker Ski and Snowboard Carrier # 298-SK2425 available. This is a Vacuum Cup Mounted rack that will attach to your roof and allows you to carry 4 pairs of skis or 2 boards.
