Question:
We have this unit is an older trailer that we just purchased... the radio did work, then we plugged our phone into the USB to charge it - and now nothing works on the stereo unit. Did we do something wrong - can you please help us out with this problem. Genesis Technology GT-2.0 stereo system Like I said, radio worked just fine before this... now the CD player does not work properly either... it does play - but it sounds slow... Tks - and hopefully you can help out.

With the age of the unit it's most likely just time for replacement. The only troubleshooting you can do with a stereo is to simply ensure that all the wiring is properly attached and that the stereo itself is receiving 12v DC power. With what you've said about your unit it sounds like something else is internally wrong, which would not be repairable.
Instead, I recommend installing the Furrion RV Stereo # DV1230BL that you were looking at. This stereo is a bit smaller so you'll want to build a blank to cover the original cutout and give your trailer a clean look. I typically just cut down a nicer piece of plywood and sand/paint it black to cover the hole and then cut the correct sized hole for the stereo into it.
Wiring in a stereo can seem daunting but it really is a breeze if you just match up the functions of the wires based on the wiring diagrams for both units. I've attached a video below where I do just that with another stereo system.
