Does Tekonsha Primus IQ have to Mount Level

Yes the Tekonsha Primus IQ part # TK90160 does need to mount level. Since it has an inertia sensor it needs to be positioned properly for it to function. It needs to face squarely to the rear of the vehicle and be totally level from side to side. The only flexibility it has is that it can point up and down up to 90 degrees up and down. See attached pictures.
If you don't mount it properly the brake controller performance will be pretty erratic and won't activate the brakes properly. This is how basically all proportional brake controllers have to install.
