The best hitch for your 2016 Ford C-Max is the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver item # 306-X7200. This hitch has a 2" receiver which will give you the most options for accessories and the highest capacity available for your Ford.
In order to tow with this hitch you will also need a wiring harness item # C59496 and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
