Recommended Flat Towing Components For A 2019 GMC Sierra 2500

Blue Ox doesn't currently make a tow bar wiring kit for a 2019 GMC Sierra 2500 but Roadmaster does with their Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This Diode wiring kit will transfer your motorhome's brake and turn signals through the tail lights of your Sierra to keep you street legal.

Since you have combined wiring in your Sierra you will need to install the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit # RM-88400 to prevent the brake signal from overriding the turn signal. This kit splices into the brake light switch wire, which is unusable on your Sierra so you'll also need the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751463 to provide that brake light signal for the relay.

Your battery must be disconnected while towing so if you'd prefer to avoid having to physically remove and reinstall the battery cable every time you tow you can install the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect # RM-766. This disconnect will give you a simple switch to hit any time you need to tow your Sierra.

If you haven't purchased the rest of your flat towing components then I have the following recommendations:

Tow Bar: etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e47ZR. This tow bar comes with safety cables so that you won't have to purchase them separately. The shank is adjustable to help keep the tow bar level between the motorhome and Sierra without the need of a high/low adapter.

Baseplate: Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BLU22QR.

Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524. This system comes with a remote to display when the brakes are being activated and will also allow you to adjust the brake settings from your motorhome. A charge line kit is included with this system to keep your Sierra's battery charged while you tow.
