Question:

I am trying to find a system of a tow bar and base plate for my 2000 Dodge Durango. I am not sure what system would be the cheapest and useable behind my motorhome. I’m hoping for an entire system that I know is compatible together and not going to break the bank.

For the most economical flat tow setup I have the following recommendations:

Tow Bar: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e74ZR. This comes with safety cables included so you won't have to purchase those separately. The shank is adjustable to help keep the tow bar level between the motorhome and Durango with the need of a high/low adapter.

Baseplate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # 246-6.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Heavy Duty Magnetic Tow Lights # TL21RK. These magnetic lights will plug right into your 4-pole connector on your motorhome and stick to roof of your Durango to display your braking and turn signals.

Braking System: Brake Buddy Classic 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39494. This system includes a charge line kit, which will keep your Durango's battery charged while you travel.
