Question:
Hello, I have a Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch - Class I - 1-1/4 Item # 24965 on my Kia Optima with a maximum tongue weight on the hitch is 200 pounds. I wanted to make sure that I can carry 300 pounds of cargo using a Curt 17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4 and 2 Hitches Item # C18145 the weight is listed at 300 pounds. Thank you for your time.

With any towing/weight carrying setup you are always limited by the lowest rated component as the overall capacity for everything. So since your 2015 Kia Optima has a Draw Tite hitch part # 24965 which has a 200 lb tongue weight capacity you'd be limited to carrying up to 200 lbs even with a cargo carrier like the Curt # C18145 which has a capacity of 300 lbs.
