Question:
I currently own this rack and am considering a cross-country trip with my bikes. Due to that, Id like to cover the bikes if at all possible, which obviously blocks the tail lights and license plate. Based on the bikes being covered Im not entirely sure that the bottom bracket will be visible to attach a light kit to, and Id need a lighted license plate holder as well. Any suggestions? This is being attached to a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The best solution we have is to use the Thule License Plate Holder # TH35JV for the license plate part of your problem and then adding magnetic towing lights like the Wireless Hopkins # C6304 (you need 8 AA batteries # DU58QR) or Optronics # TL21RK so your tail lights are still visible.
Since your Swagman XC2 Bike Rack # S64650 will be covered with the bag you'll need to get creative with the mounting straps for the Thule License Plate Holder but it's the best option for your application.
To add 2 of the 4-Way connections at the back of your Grand Cherokee you can use the Curt T-Connector # C55384 which tees inline with your OEM wiring so you can daisy chain this with your existing plug or adding 2 of the T-Connector for individual 4-Ways.
