Troubleshooting Liftgate Not Functioning After Installation of 4-Way Wiring Harness on 2020 CR-V

Question:
Installed the tekonsha wiring and now the hatch is not working. This is not a foot activated model. I see this was a previous issue on a 2017 customer.

The first thing I would do is uninstall the # 118741 wiring harness to see if the rear hatch functions once it is removed. This will help you narrow down the problem. If this fixes the issue then I would try double checking the ground and make sure the connections are secure.
If this does not fix the problem then there is an issue with the vehicle. I would again say to check the ground connections to make sure they are secure. The instructions specifically have a note to make sure all existing ground connections are still attached. This is likely the issue.
The other possibility is that some other wiring came loose or was damaged when you removed the panel and installed the wiring harness. I would look behind the panel and see if you are able to identify where the problem might be and repair as needed.

2019 Honda crv no foot sensor. I had the same issue with mine after installation of harness, I couldn’t use button to close door. When I unbolted the ground, the radio came on and the back up camera came on which was weird. I had bad luck with a couple clips falling off. You may want to buy some extras(part #91560-SZW-003) Anyways. Hatch was not working. I unhooked the battery for a minute and that did nothing. I took apart my trim panels again and nothing loose and there is just one big ground with a few wires hooked into the one big copper eyelet. I had to close the tailgate manually and then i was able to open and close it again. So just closing it made it work.
