Solution for Kuat Trio that Hits Rear Lift Gate
Updated 06/21/2022 | Published 06/20/2022 >
Question:
I recently purchased and received a Kuat Trio roof rack from etrailer. When I did my search on trailer, I put in my vehicle make - 2019 Audi Q5. I have a factory aero blade roof rack to attach the Kuat Trio to. In the search window I put in roof bike racks. The Kuat Trio came up as a compatible roof bike rack for my Q5 set up. However, once the rack arrived and I installed it I found that the Kuat Trio extends fairly far back on the rack and the car tail gate hits the end of the Kuat Trio rack - not good. What should I do? Did I make a mistake when I did the search of compatible roof bike racks for my 2019 Q5? Im leaving this weekend for a long trip and wanted to put my bikes on the rack. But Im reluctant to take the rack on the road if this rack is not right for the car.

I am assuming you mean it's hitting the rear hatch/trunk/lift gate when it's open but not when it's closed? Or is it hitting all the time? Have you tried reversing the Kuat Trio part # TR02 on the crossbars of your 2019 Audi Q5?
