The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package item # 118291 you were referencing will not work with an existing 4-way connector or function as designed by splicing it in. This adapter plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package wiring harness. The converter plugs into the factory wiring harness in your rear cargo area, on the driver's side. This adapter only works if you have the tow package.

If your Honda Passport doesn't have the tow package and/or only has a 4-way connector you will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires item # ETBC7. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your Passport with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it. These two parts are the only way you can add a fully functional 7-way connector to your Honda Passport.
