Is Hands-Free Liftgate Sensor Required for Installation of Curt Hitch on 2019 Honda Pilot
Updated 06/14/2022 | Published 06/12/2022 >
Question:
If we dont use the automatic back hatch sensors, anyway is it okay to just cover them up with the Curt hitch and not put the Honda extension adaptors on? Or will it generate a blocked sensor error in the cars computer?

Expert Reply:
If you do not care about the hands-free liftgate feature on your 2019 Honda Pilot then you do not need to worry about relocating the sensor. You only need the sensor relocation kit if you want to be able to use the hands-free liftgate after installing the Curt # C13146. There will not be any errors, it simply will not function.
I have attached an installation video for your reference.
