Will Kuat Piston Pro X Bike Rack Clear Bumper on 2022 Tesla Model Y

Question:

I am looking to purchase the Kuat Piston Pro X, but I want to make sure that there are no issues with it being hitched to a Tesla Model Y in either the down position with two bikes on it or with it lifted up in the stored position. I just want to confirm that there are not clearance issues. Thanks for the help.

The Kuat Piston Pro X Bike Rack # KU98VR is an excellent selection and will work great with your 2022 Tesla Model Y both in the folded up and flat positions, but I'll go ahead and give you the dimensional numbers so you can verify on your end and have some peace of mind prior to purchasing.

When we installed the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT58MR on a 2022 Model Y we found that this measured 5" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the rearmost part of the bumper. According to Kuat the Piston Pro X measures 6-3/8" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack when it's folded up so you'll have 1-3/8" of clearance with it in the stored position.
