You can supply power to your RV's electrical system from only one source at a time otherwise there will be damage to your RV's electrical system. If you have an onboard generator that was installed by the OEM, you most likely already have a transfer switch in place. If you do not, and your generator is an onboard model, I highly suggest you install one. I recommend something such as the Progressive Dynamics Transfer Switch, # PD5110010Q. This transfer switch automatically changes from shore power to generator power when activated and has a time delay function that allows only one input to feed your RV's breaker panel.
