Question:
We have a Ram 1500 and Forest River travel trailer that has a loaded tongue weight of 800 lbs. We are currently having bad sway issues when we pull the trailer. Based on the specs of the truck, it should be able to handle the trailer just fine, but as I said, when traveling down the road at 55 mph, it will sway pretty severely. What is the best weight distribution for sway control?

Thanks for all that info, and for the absolute best weight distribution hitch and sway control for your Forester River travel trailer with an 800 lb loaded tongue weight is from Equal-i-zer:
- Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System with 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37100ET
The Equal-i-zer # EQ37100ET is the best because of its 4 points of sway control via friction in the spring bars at both the brackets and the head unit where the arms insert. This is double the amount of sway control compared to most systems, and ensures there is a consistent amount of force enable in the hitch to continually combat heavy sway.
This weight distribution hitch also uses clamp-on brackets so you won't have to drill along your trailer frame, and allows you to back up with the system on, which many do not. Our customers who have used the Equal-i-zer # EQ37100ET regard it very highly, with some 600 reviews (thus far) giving it a rating very close to 5 out of 5 stars, as you can see on the product page.
Additionally, this system comes with everything you need for installation, including the shank and hitch ball, though it is recommended you use thin-walled socket # ALL643216 to help install the hitch ball.
