Question:

Hi, I thinking of using a Putco light blade on the truck that is also towed behind a motorhome, am I able to wire into the 4 pin light blade connect so it can in used when vehicle is in tow and use the 7pin connector when the truck is not in tow? I’m using a Roadmaster towed vehicle wiring set up with smart diodes.

You can mount the Putco Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar # P72KR on your 2021 GMC Canyon with the included wiring kit. The light bar would only be able to be used as a 3rd brake light when used in the flat tow setup. As the wiring ties the bar directly into the 7-way connector on your Canyon you will need to have an additional Diode from the Set # RO54FR for the light bar. This diode will wire in but first you will also need a 3rd Brake Light Logic Module # PP20-702 to separate the turn signals from the brake light.
