Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Putco 48 inch long Direct Fit Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar. Now, this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2015 and newer Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon trucks, 2020 and newer Jeep Gladiators, and 2005 and newer Toyota Tacoma trucks. Now, because it fits many different vehicles, I do recommend to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, that'll show you if this will work for your application. Now, this is a nice tailgate light bar, which will provide auxiliary tail, stop, turn, and backup light functions. It basically install in the gap at the bottom of your tailgate, which is between the tailgate and the bumper.

The LEDs on this light bar will produce a nice bright red, amber, or white light based on which signal's being used. Now, at the end of this video, I'm gonna connect this light to some 12 volt power to show you how the light bar works and how bright it is, but I first wanna go over some of its features. Wanna zoom in on the bar itself. Uses COB, which is chip-on-board LED technology, that'll create a nice, bright, solid panel of light. If you noticed, the LED chips are mounted close together to give you a uniform high intensity light similar to a lighting panel.

It is a nice sealed lens and housing unit, which is waterproof, has an IP69K rating to stand up to severe environmental conditions and cleaning methods, and if you noticed, has a nice tinted polycarbonate housing, provides a nice sleek look when it's installed. Now, this is a simple installation, comes with the included automotive grade 3M tape, the mounting clips, the connectors that you need, even comes with this nice quick-connect custom fit wiring harness that'll plug into your vehicle's existing light connections, so there's no cutting or splicing wires required. Application, again, for this part is mid-size trucks, we mentioned the dimension on this, the length, 48 inches long, width of it is only 5/8 of an inch, height is only 3/8 of an inch. Now, the backup light output, when this goes to the bright white or the cool white light, it's over 3,000 lumens output, and I am gonna show you that when we turn this on. So right now we got it hooked up, I'm gonna go ahead and turn on the 12 volt power, and you can see with the power on, your running lights or taillight function comes, and you can see it's all red LEDs the whole length of light bar.

Now, when you do apply your brakes, you'll be able to see when the brakes are applied how it gets brighter just like your brake lights. Works in tandem with your brake lights. And then when you go to a turn signal, you could see when you hit your turn signal, then there's a row, that would be your passenger's side turn signal, so you can see there's a row of amber lights that will flash, and then when you go to the driver's side, you can see there's your other row of amber lights that would flash. And then again, when you go into reverse and go to backup, you'll be able to see how bright this cool white light is. And there you go, when you go in reverse you can see the backup light comes on, and it's very bright.

As I mentioned, over 3,000 lumens, cool white color. Go ahead and turn back on overhead lights, turn off our power. But that should to do it for the review on this Putco 48 inch long Direct Fit Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar..
