Can Inner Bearing be Reached with Grease Using Bearing Buddy
Published 05/19/2022 >
Question:
I own a 16 foot lawn trailer. I installed 4 bearing buddies on both axles. It seems like it only took enough grease to fill the cup between the zerk and the outside bearing. I needed to get grease to the inner bearing but I’m trying to figure out how grease gets past the washer behind the nut

Expert Reply:
Bearing Buddies aren't ideal for getting grease through the outer bearing to the inner bearing. Typically the amount of pressure required to get the grease that far would end up eventually blowing out the seal or pushing off the Bearing Buddy. It's best to grease the bearings by hand to prevent that.
