Is there an option I can have if I decide not to go through a retailer to identify the lock cut with a master key?

Sorry to hear about your keys! With your provided information, we cannot know for sure what replacement keys you need for your Thule SUP Taxi XT # TH810001. This is because I confirmed with Thule that the lock cores that come with the # TH810001 are all coded to different key cuts. They are not all coded to N223.

With that being said, my tech at Thule suggested that the best way to proceed is to take one of the saddles to a local outdoor equipment department store and have them test your lock with the master key set. Once we know the lock core cut you have, we can definitely know for sure what replacement keys you need.

As a last resort, you can technically drill out the key cores you have on your # TH810001 and replace them with completely new lock cylinders. For this route, it is important to be extremely careful that you do not damage any other components of the carrier other than drilling out the locks. If you need assistance drilling, you can always reach out to a local locksmith. Once you drill out the locks, you need 4 replacement cores total. For that part, that is the Thule One-Key System Locks - Qty 4 # TH450400. This kit comes with 4 lock cores, 2 keys, and a change key. The cylinders are keyed-alike.
