Question:
Hello, I am looking at purchasing a Gulf Stream 189dd travel trailer. Dry weight is 2996 with tongue weight of 350lbs. GVWR Is 3800 lbs, however I would be cautious to keep my total weight including cargo under my max towing capacity of 3500 lbs. I am told that with a proper class III hitch, without distribution kit as it’s not compatible, rather having the sway equalizer I should be fine. Is this correct with me maxing out near 3500lbs as well as max tongue weight of 350lbs? I would be driving short distances of 45km and lower speeds sub 90km/hr on flat terrain.

Yes, so long as you are sure you are within the parameters of the 3,500 lb towing/350 lb tongue weight of your 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC AMG 43, you can tow a trailer, even without weight distribution. The correct hitch and wiring for your Mercedes is the following, depending on if you have the SUV or Coupe:
- SUV: Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver with Towing Kit # SH64GR
- Coupe: Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver with Towing Kit # SH74GR
