Roof Mounted Cargo Bag Recommendation for a Vehicle with No Roof Rack

Can the highland bag be safely mounted to the side rails when there arent any crossbars for the front and back clips?

Expert Reply:
Some roof mount cargo bags are not designed to be used without crossbars on the vehicle. We do have other bags that you can use with a naked roof or with just side rails that run front to back on the roof. I have included a link to them for you.
The Rightline Sport, # RL100S30, is one of the bags that you can use. I have included a link to the installation details for you.
No matter which bag you choose I also recommend protective pad # RL100650 to protect the vehicle roof. Also, make sure to use the vehicle owners manual and/or check with the vehicle manufacturer for the capacity of the roof before loading.
