Question:

I am going to installed roof rack or cross bar to the 2009 Lexus RX350. The vehicle comes with roof rails and factory roof bar. I am intend to install a Rooftop tent which can weight between 135-170 lbs The RTT will sleep 2 people which weights around 300 lbs. I am trying to find something that can work. Do you have any recommendations? The ones that I see in the website have weight capacity of 165lbs. I cant tell if this is static weight or dynamic weight. Looking for recommendation. Thanks

Thank you for the info - since your 2009 Lexus RX 350 has the raised rails that's a great start!

For your application I recommend going with the Thule WingBar Evo roof rack system which includes the 50" Long Crossbars # TH711320 and the Evo Raised Feet # TH710401. This has a weight rating of 165 lbs so it will be perfect for a rooftop tent. The 165 lb rating is dynamic. Any weight rating given by a roof rack manufacturer will be the dynamic rating unless stated otherwise.

As long as your roof rack meets the specs for your rooftop tent you're good to go!
