Can Center Section of Lasalle Bristol Tank Valve Replace Older Valve Setup
Updated 04/12/2022 | Published 04/11/2022 >
Question:
2018 Forest River Sunseeker 2400 W MBS. Valve was very hard to operate beginning this season. Removed T handle and operator from housing to allow reach rod to be fully extended. Fabricated a reservoir to attach to the threaded rod retainer for holding penetration oil. Secured this rig as high as possible and added Seafoam penetration oil and allowed to flow until oil drip from the cable at the valve. Some improvement but not satisfactory for travel. The valve installed in there now is a Lasalle Bristol. I see no advantage in modifying the tank or drain connectors, just to install the gate valve and reach rod assembly. Can I just purchase the part, remove the bolts and spigot or hub connectors and install the gate valve assembly with the new seals and bolting? I have seen this addressed somewhere previously, I would appreciate the backup..thank you.

It would be possible if you are willing to remove just the center section of the # 34466N4AB96GMA and what you have now. The center portion would bolt right up to the flanges you have currently.
