What RoadActive Leaf Spring Enhancement do You Recommend to Eliminate Bouncing on My 2011 Tundra?

Updated 04/01/2022 | Published 03/31/2022

Question:

I have airbags on my truck now for pulling a 7500 travel trailer. I am trying to eliminate or greatly reduce bounce when going down the road with the travel trailer attached. If I were to add the roadmaster active suspension will that help with the bounce or just add new shocks? Truck is 11 years old OEM shocks still on truck. Thanks.

The RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Springs definitely add tightness and stability to your setup. If you do a lot of hauling, your OEM springs and shocks can use some extra support to make up for the normal wear/tear on your 2011 Toyota Tundra. Since you are hauling a 7500-pound travel trailer, I recommend using the heavy duty model # RAS34FR. The great thing about this kit is that it does add firmness to your setup while you are towing as well as when you are not towing. Also, once the springs are installed, they require absolutely zero maintenance. As far as fitment, the # RAS34FR fits both 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive models.

It is important to note that, depending on what model of air bags you have installed, you need to make sure there is at least 3-1/4" of space between the U-bolts on the leaf spring stack and the air bags. I recommend measuring this distance to make sure it falls within this parameter.
