Removing Stuck Base Plate Tabs On Lincoln MKX

The last two base plates we have bought, the attachment tabs are so hard to come out, sometimes can’t even take them out, the last baseplate was for our Lincoln MKX, what can we do

I can help you for sure.
The Blue Ox removable tabs # BX2625 are a twist style friction lock with a keeper pin.
To remove them:
Disconnect the tow bar from the tabs.
Pull the pin on the tab, twist the tab 90 degrees, either direction, then pull it out.
If you have the plastic cover cap I recommend using it to keep debris from getting inside.
I will link a video to show you the process. If you want to skip to the 1:50 mark you will see the process.
If you are still having issues I recommend cleaning out the tab. Spray it down with water and soap then you can hit it with WD40 and really clean it out with a wire brush. Then use the protective cap to keep it clean.
You can use a wire brush like the Counteract Wire Cleaning Brush for Valve Stem Mounting Holes - 10.7 mm # CA89FR to really get in there and knock the grime away if there is any.
