Question:

I have a 2011 Heartland Elkridge, weighs 9500 lbs. dry. I need to replace the kingpin box and gooseneck. What would be the right manufactured brand?

In order to find the correct replacement for your 2011 Heartland Elkridge you are going to need to identify your current pin box. Typically there is a sticker located on the pin box or king pin with the pin box number. If you are unable to find the sticker then you may be able to contact the manufacturer with the VIN to see what pin box it has. If all else fails, you will need to measure the bolt pattern. See the attached article for how to measure the bolt pattern and identify your pin box.

Once you know what you have you will be able to choose the right replacement. It would also be a good idea to find out your pin weight and GVWR to make sure you get the right capacity. For example, if you find that you have a Lippert 1621 then you can use the Lippert 1621 5th Wheel Pin Box - 15,500 lbs # LC1191191 or 21,000 lbs # LC1387883.

The same is true for the goose box but with a few more possibilities. If you have the 1621, 1621HD, or 0719 pin boxes you can use the Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter - 16,000 lbs # RP94716 or Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter - 20,000 lbs # RP85FR.
