The # DM6071 rails provided with the Demco # DM8552025-71 bracket/rail kit will absolutely handle the 21K capacity of the Demco # DM8550043 Recon 5th wheel hitch you mentioned. The bracket/rail kit has a 25K capacity per the folks at Demco, so you'll have some capacity to spare.
You'll want to keep in mind- for a short bed truck, unless your 5th wheel has the concaved-in front corners and the 5th wheel manufacturer specifically states that a sliding hitch isn't necessary, you might not have sufficient clearance between the truck cab and the front of the 5th wheel during turns.
If your 5th wheel has a rotating pin box like the Reese Sidewinder or Revolution or the Lippert Turning Point, you'll also need a wedge like part # SWW-05 to prevent the king pin from rotating in the hitch jaws.
If you'd like to install a 7-way trailer connector in the truck bed so you don't need to run the trailer connector cable up over the tailgate, you can install one using part # 41157.
I've linked to some install videos that you might find helpful.
