Trailer Breakaway Switch Compatible With 12-Volt RV Battery

Question:

Do you have an electric brake breakaway that works of the 12 volt RV battery? without needing another smaller battery.

Yes, the Trailer Breakaway Switch # 420000 can be wired to the 12 volt RV battery on your trailer as long as the battery has a charge line to maintain its power while you are towing.

I prefer to use the Fastway Zip Trailer Breakaway Switch with Coiled Cable in 4' # FA80-00-2040 or 6' # FA80-00-2060 since there is less chance of the coiled cable becoming damaged. I have included the wiring diagram from Fastway that shows how the breakaway switch is wired to your RV battery.

@Mike No Mike, it does not matter. One goes to power and the other goes to brakes. What kind of trailer are you working on?
