Helpful Expert Reply:
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" item # C11020 has a 200 lbs maximum tongue weight. You would need to weigh both your mobile scooter and carrier to ensure you don't exceed this weight. You will have to check the owner's manual of your 2009 Smart fortwo to confirm your cars actual tongue weight.
