I reached out to Demco and found that you can disassemble the Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # DM13689-52 if you want to powder coat it to match the trailer. If you do disassemble the coupler, the stem screw will need to have the nylon patch removed with a wire brush and then Loctite applied when reassembled.
Alternatively, you can powder coat the coupler while assembled. The Composite handle is powder coat friendly up to 425 degrees.
