Updated 03/01/2022 | Published 02/28/2022

Question:

Currently have a ducted Dometic Brisk Air II on a TT Toy Hauler. Would like to replace the Dometic with the Furrion FR86PR. Is that doable in terms of fit form and function. Capable of doing the removal and install myself. If possible to interchange AC units, would I need to also purchase inside ceiling piece and thermostat?

This model of Furrion Chill Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Furrion Setup, # FR86PR is best suited for replacement of similar installed unit. But yes it doable in terms of fit, form and function.

My suggestion however for replacing a Dometic Brisk unit such as yours is the 15K btu Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Dometic Setup w/ Start Capacitor. Use the part number # ACDOM150B for a black cover or # ACDOM150 for a white cover. These options of AC units can be used to replace your Dometic air conditioner with a much easier install process as they plug directly into your current Dometic setup working with the existing air distribution box. They also have a start capacitor that jumpstarts the AC when camp power or generator power isn't enough.
