Question:
is there automatic protection from charging in sub zero weather when connected in Lithium mode? If not what would be the best solution? a battery disconnect between the charger and start battery... if so what about the blue wire? does it need to be disconnected also?

Yes, there is indeed automatic protection from charging your lithium battery in cold weather with the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger - Dual Input - DC to DC - 12V/24V - 25 Amp # 331-BCDC1225D.
The # 331-BCDC1225D will switch off at 32 degrees and flash that there is a temperature fault. Once above the temperature it will continue to work as normal.
I also wanted to mention that the BCDC will require a fuse kit, the 40-Amp MIDI Fuse Kit for Redarc In-Vehicle 25-Amp BCDC Battery Charger # 331-FK40.
