Suspension Enhancement for 2014 Jeep Wrangler for Towing Heavy Trailer

Published 01/27/2022

Question:

I drive a 2014 Jeep Wrangler JKU 4-door. Just finished a 4,000 mile road trip, and have another 6,000 mile trip in July. Im loaded out pretty heavy, close to the 5,700 lbs Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, as I have all my possessions I need to live for 6 months in the Jeep. Obviously I understand that nothing beats lowing the weight, and will attempt to lower it as much as I can. However, would the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System, or perhaps the Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops help to mitigate issues caused by being somewhat overloaded? I would likely prioritize the rear suspension, as thats where the greater percentage of the weight seems to be.

Suspension enhancement for your 2014 Jeep Wrangler like the Timbren # TJRJK that is a confirmed fit will do a great job giving you additional suspension support for towing up to the capacity for your vehicle but you should note that it does not allow you to tow beyond what your vehicle was rated for as there are other factors like braking, frame strength, cooling capacity, transmission rating, engine rating etc.

This is why suspension enhancement while proving additional suspension support does not change the overall towing capacity and why I have to recommend you stay under your towing capacity.
