What is Difference Between SumoSprings and Roadmaster Comfort Ride for 2021 Sandpiper 5th Wheel

Published 01/26/2022

Question:

I Have a new 2021 Sandpiper 5th wheel with the LCI dual 7000lb axles, the springs are being replaced under warranty as they are flattened. We have weighed our setup on the truck scales and we are well under our max load. When doing the install I was going to add the following upgrades to help improve ride and reduce stress on the springs, looking at these upgrades: - Road Armor Equalizer Kit - MORryde International Inc. UO21-003 Xfactor Performance Crossmembers and then add one of the following : - Roadmaster 2460 Comfort Ride Shock Absorber System for 3 Inch Axles - TSS-107-47 Trailer SumoSprings Which is the best recommended option and setup combination to go with? Is there actually better springs to replace the crappy ones that came on the 5th wheel? Thanks

Expert Reply:

So the Roadmaster Comfort Ride System part # RM-2460 is going to make the ride quality softer and less harsh by adding shocks to it and the Sumo Springs kit part # TSS-107-47 would give the suspension additional support to prevent sagging. They both would work well together but they provide different things.

There aren't really higher and lower quality trailer suspension leaf springs either. They are all mostly made to same quality.
