Will Curt Trailer Hitch Affect Jack Point on 2014 Honda Accord Sedan
Published 01/19/2022 >
Question:
I am considering purchasing this and installing it myself. However, I have a 2014 Honda Accord Sedan, and this hitch attaches to the rear tow hook. I believe the only rear floor jack point on the car is the tow hook. So I will be able to lift the car and place it on jack stands, but I am concerned that I will not be able to lower it. Additionally, I do not want to lose my rear floor jack point because I use it for other purposes e.g. brake pad replacement. Once this hitch is installed, can it be used as the new jack point? Or do you lose your rear floor jack point once this is installed? If so, do you sell other hitches that are different? Thanks.

Good question, and while you will still have jack points in front of the rear tires, and behind the rear tires on your 2014 Honda Accord sedan, per the owner's manual, the rear jack point the tow hook would be lost with the installation of a hitch, including the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11496.
Trailer hitch receivers like the Curt # C11496 should not be used as a jack mounting point, and there isn't another hitch that fits that installs differently. So you'd need to be okay using the other jack mounting points for your Accord to use the hitch.
