Does this have to be installed upright, or can it be on the side?

Per the manufacturer, Excel, the Excel RV Tankless On-Demand Water Heater - Gas - Electric Ignition - 38,000 Btu # EX93FR has to be installed upright with the vent facing upwards. Other than that the only other installation restriction is to not install it in a bathroom or bedroom so you can install it wherever you have the space for it.

@Jm The Excel RV Tankless Water Heater # EX93FR has an oxygen sensor in it that will cut off the unit if it isn't receiving enough air to avoid filling the room with carbon monoxide. Placing it in a cramped bathroom can deprive the unit of air causing that sensor to activate and turn off the unit.
