Question:
My RV has an Advent AC135 AC135SP non-ducted A/C unit. I purchased a ACMHD heating element and installed it in my unit. Installation was very simple. A few screws to mount it inside the unit and plug it in to the connecter for the heating element. However, every time I turn the switch on the unit to heat, it trips my breaker for the A/C unit. The A/C still works fine. I checked the element for a short but its not shorted. It measures around 100 ohms. Is the ACMHD the wrong element for the AC135?

First of all I can confirm that the Electric Heat Strip for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners - 5,500 BTU item # ACMHD is the correct unit for the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner - 13,500 Btu - White item # ACM135. It sounds like your A/C unit is pulling to much power or has a fault somewhere in the wiring. I recommend looking for any faults in your wiring and check for lose connections. You could also have a bad breaker that needs to be replaced.
