Fitment of Konig Premium Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains for 2019 Subaru Forester

Question:
I purchased this for my Subaru Forester 2019. Tires are Falken ZIEX ZE001 A/S — 225/55R18 . I made all the necessary adjustments at home before our trip lug nut adapter, spacers, and chain dimensions At home they seemed to fit well on the tire. However, we’re now on our trip, and the chains seem to be slipping off the tires after driving a few minutes. Would really appreciate any ideas you may have, thank you! For reference, I placed the chains on top of the tires, and tried to push them towards the center of the tire as much as possible. I then attached the lug nut adapter to the wheel, tightening with the tool and making sure the arrow is pointed towards the center. I drove forward a little bit, and pushed the remaining chains onto the center of the tire as much as possible. I ratcheted down the strap. And again pushed the chains as far back towards the center of the tire as I could. After driving a few minutes the chains were close to the edge of the tire and about to fall off. Thank you for your help!
