I have a Reese slide hitch 16000 Can I use that with the 5.5 bed. I do not have a rotating pin box 2022 Chevy 1500

The best set-up for a 2022 Chevrolet 1500 with a 5.5' bed is going to be to use a fixed hitch with a rotating pin box because that is going to be what provides for the most turning clearance.

But since you already have a sliding hitch you can try that first. As long as your hitch attaches to industry standard rails then you will be able to use it with your 2022 Chevrolet 1500 with a 5.5' bed. You would just need industry standard rails in your bed, which you can get using the Demco Hijacker Premier Series Custom Mounting Brackets # DM8552034 and the Universal Above-Bed Base Rails # DM6071. You would just need to test your turning limits. Depending on the taper of your 5th wheel you may have enough clearance to get away with using a sliding hitch opposed to a rotating pin box. The best way to do this is going to be to carefully test it. You will want to hook up your 5th wheel and carefully and slowly make turns, I would recommend grabbing a buddy to help you so you have an extra set of eyes outside of the truck making sure you aren't going to make contact with your truck on your turns. If you can make 90 degree turns without contact then you are good to go, or if you can almost make a 90 degree turn and can live with knowing what your turn limits are then that works too.

But if you can't make 90 degree turns and don't want to have to always keep your turning limits in mind and just want to have the peace of mind knowing you can make the turn, then you can provide me with the Pin Box number from your current pin box and I can recommend the correct rotating pin box for you.
