Will a Short Bed 2022 Ford F-350 Allow For Full Turning Clearance With 4 Offset Ball And Goose Box?

Question:

I am trying to decide on a short preferred or long bed for a 2022 F-350 SRW. I plan on pulling a Grand Design Solitude 2930 15000lbs GVWR, Hitch 2174lbs with a Reese Goose Box Adapter and a 4inch offset ball. What should I expect as a turning angle with a short bed? Is this a good, safe combination? Should I be concerned with crushing the cab edges?

My recommendation is to go with the long bed for your 2022 Ford F-350 SRW truck. This is the best way to ensure that you have the clearance that you need for turning the Grand Design Solitude 2930. The Solitude has a 101" wide body design which means that you need at least 50-1/2" from your gooseneck ball center to the cab for a full jackknife turn. On a Short Bed you will have close to 40" so even with a 4" Offset ball like the # BWGNXA4085 this will only get you to 44".

The B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1116 is the hitch that I recommend for your 2022 F-350 long bed. This will allow you to keep the clean bed and also use the 4" Offset ball # BWGNXA4085 to increase your turning clearances.
