I’d like to get a ski rack for my outback. It’s got the factory rails installed. 1 are there ski racks that don’t require crossbars? If so, recommendations? 2 if cross bars are required, can you recommend any that fit? Your expertise would be appreciated! Thanks,

At one point there were ski carriers that fit vehicles with raised side rails directly but at this time there are only options that fit to crossbars like the Malone bars part # MPG216 that you referenced.
With that rack installed you'd be able to install a carrier like the Kuat Switch # KU94FR.
