Will the Band Style TST TPMS Sensors Work with Factory GM TPMS for Trailers

Question:

The newer GM trucks have the ability to read trailer TPMS on their center console. They use 433Mhz internal sensors, however the ones that come with the truck are limited to 100PSI, and have a smaller diameter. Thus they do not work on higher/larger trailer tires ie 5th wheel vs bumper. Will this 433Mhz sensors work with the 2020+ GM trucks? Thanks!

I do have an option for you but the GM TPMS uses a proprietary software, you cannot use another sensor with the program even if they operate on the same frequency per TST. I do know of many others who have run into issues with GM not offering a solution for the larger 16"+ wheels. Therefore, your best option for these larger tires is a standalone system for which I recommend the TST TPMS part # TST34FR which comes with a color dash monitor and four sensors.

Conner, While I have no experience with the TST sensors, I am using both Schrader and Autel sensors with the factory TPMS system in my 2023 Silverado 3500HD so I'm not sure the proprietary software statement is entirely correct unless both Schrader and Autel have built it into their sensors. However, I have not found a sensor that will reliably get a signal through when on a long trailer with load range G tires.
