Question:

will this item work if if cut the pipe just past the broken pins, then glue this over the remaining pipe with recommended glue?

The LaSalle Bristol RV Sewer Termination Adapter part # 34466V293B3 has a 3" hub fittings so it is designed to slide over a 3" outer diameter black sewer pipe and can then be fused on using the LaSalle Bristol ABS Solvent Cement part # 3447530889. If you're replacing a fitting then you will lose some length as you must cut the old fitting off in it's entirety.
