Question:
My 2020 Chevy Equinox, with 235/50/19 tires, owners manual states do not use tire chains due to clearance issues. But it does not recommend alternatives other than winter tires or another type of traction device only if its manufacture recommends it for the vehicles tire size combination and road condition. However, you recommend the Konig XG12 Pro-Size 247-THO1594247 for it among others. Also, I read one of the pro responses that they are fine for a 2020 GMC Terrain which should be the same. I need traction devices for this vehicle in the snow. What do you recommend?

There are a couple of options for snow tire chains for your 2020 Chevy Equinox with 235/50R19 tires, you'll just want to make sure you have the clearance needed. The option that is likely to work requires just 12 mm (0.47 inches) of clearance between the top of your tire's tread and the wheel well, as well as the distance between your tire's sidewall and the vehicle:
- Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # TH01594247
The # TH01594247 are a diamond pattern so they cover more of the tire to give you better traction, and has D-link chains, which is optimal for even deep snow as they dig in and catch more of the road. They are also easy to use as you just put the chains around your tires, make the connections and then drive off because they self-tension.
So long as you have that amount of clearance you can use those chains, but if you have less than that on the inside of your wheel well, there is one other option, which does not require any clearance at all, the Konig Premium Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # TH02230K66.
The Konig # TH02230K66 only go on your tire's top tread and not on the inside of the tire at all, so there isn't any clearance needed. They are an outstanding, easy-to-use chain, but are also a premium option, so I would only recommend going this route if you don't have the necessary 12 mm of clearance.
